The Arab Union for International Exhibitions & Conferences (AUIEC) held its General Assembly meeting at the Arab Contractors Club overlooking the Nile in Cairo, bringing together 65 members representing 16 Arab countries, including government institutions, exhibition centers, organizing companies, and service providers operating across the exhibitions and conferences industry. Members participated both in person and remotely through electronic communication platforms.
During the meeting, the General Assembly approved the Union’s 2026 Action Plan and estimated budget for the period from January to December 2026. The plan focuses on strengthening Arab cooperation in the exhibitions and conferences sector, developing professional training and capacity-building programs, expanding the Union’s international network and institutional partnerships, and launching qualitative initiatives aimed at supporting the growth of the Arab exhibitions industry and enhancing its competitiveness in international markets.
The meeting also reflected the General Assembly’s continued confidence in the Union’s leadership and its strategic direction for the development of the Arab exhibitions and conferences sector. Members reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Union’s role as a platform for cooperation, knowledge exchange, professional development, and international engagement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, members expressed their appreciation for the continued support provided by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States to the Union’s activities. They also extended their gratitude to all members and partners who contributed to the success of the meeting, reaffirming their shared commitment to building a more integrated, competitive, and internationally influential Arab exhibitions industry.
