Public Establishment for International Fairs & Exhibitions

According to the decree no. 141 at 1953; it was decided to organize one single session at 1954. Later it was considered as the first session according to the law no. 40 at 1955 under the name Damascus International Fair. The name was changed to the Public establishment for International Fairs & Exhibitions at 2001 by the decree no. 68.

The company`s activity: exhibitions & conferences center, exhibitions & conferences organizer, exhibitions services.

Exhibitions are considered best means to promote products and services, especially now that the competition to get shares in the global markets had escalated, yet the establishment performed its duty in presenting economical , industrial and agricultural actuality; as well as the civilized and cultural image of Syria. Not to forget enhancing the Syrian products reputation globally. And this led to increasing reciprocal economical exchange between Syria and other countries.

Those duties the establishment performed through:

• Organizing Damascus International Fair annually.
• Supervising organizing specialized exhibition in Syria.
• Representing Syria in external international exhibitions.
• Supporting and promoting private sector to launch investment projects in the Fairgrounds; in addition to expanding facilities and services according to the highest levels in organizing exhibitions industry globally.
• Creating organizational supportive environment for Syrian private exhibitions organizers inside and outside Syria.

The establishment`s success in exhibitions industry made it possible to achieve the the following:

• Membership of the Board of Director in the United Arab Union for International Exhibitions & Conferences; later Vice President.
• Membership of the administrational committee in Union of International Fairs /UFI/.
• Vice President of the Asian Sector in the Union of International Fairs, then Vice President for the Middle East & Africa Sectors.
• Head of the Regional Office Arab Eastern countries & North Africa.
• Member of the Bureau International for Exhibitions (BIE)
